Appalachian State University - State Farm Fields
Race Times: 3:00 pm Women’s Gold Race - 5000m
   3:45 pm Men’s Gold Race - 8000m
   4:30 pm Women’s Open Race - 5000m
   5:00 pm Men’s Open Race - 8000m
Surface: Course is grass and pea gravel with some asphalt at the crossing areas. There are two
   bridges with wood surfaces that are crossed twice. The course is the Kennedy Trails
   course at State Farm Fields.
Competition Format: Due to increased size of the field, the Men’s and Women’s Gold races will be limited to
   20 teams. Priority given to NCAA Division I and ranked Non-Division I teams. Some
    Division I and all others will in the Open races.
   Only seven runners from each team will be allowed in the Gold races. If a Division I
   team would like to have more than seven, they must get permission from Meet Director
   Michael Curcio. All others will have to compete in the Open races. You can contact
   Coach Curcio at: [email protected] or 828-262-6559 no later than 3:00 pm on
    Tuesday, October 13th to see what race you will be assigned.
Entry Fee: 100.00 per team for each gender per school. Post-collegiate runners $10.00. Unattached
   college student can enter at no cost if they are affliated with a team.
Entry List: Please enter by Tuesday, October 12th at 8:00 pm. This includes unattached as well. We
   are trying a new online entry system. Please follow this instructions. Go to
   www.Bigkahunatiming.com Click on Entries. Click on the Entry form for the Blue
   Ridge Open and list your runners. Use separate entry form for men and women. If you
   have more than 25 of a gender, simply submit an additional form. You do not need to
   specify which race each runner will compete in.   You can make that decision when you
   get to the meet. Receipt of your entries will be confirmed via email within 24 hours.

Parking: Teams using charter buses must park in the large parking area to your right as you come
   into the State Farm Fields area. Do not follow the road straight ahead to the parking next
   to the fields.
Review of Course: Teams wanting to review the course before Friday afternoon must call and make
   arrangements with Coach Curcio. His contact information is above. Otherwise, the
   course will be ready for inspection after 12:00 noon on Friday. Do not use the picnic
   shelter as your team area or the asphalt on the Greenway Trail.
